Our farm is compiling a list of favorites–quotes, farms, books, videos, tips!
For example:
To grow your own food gives you power and dignity. You know exactly what you’re eating because you grew it. It’s good, it’s nourishing and you did this for yourself, your family and your community.
– Karen Washington, Urban Food System Leader, Bronx NYC
The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.
But as we brainstorm and gather our thoughts, we’d love to hear from our farm-loving community! Please comment with your favorite farm-related book or tip or place or experience, and helps us gather a list of farming greats.
I love organic food and everything connected with farming. My favorite books are ‘Animal, Vegetable, Miracle’ by Barbara Kingsolver, Camille Kingsolver, and Steven L. Hopp, and ‘The New Organic Grower’ by Eliot Coleman.
Thank for sharing Irene! We Will be curating a list of the books we love too. There are so many good ones!
