New Haven Ecology Project is accepting bids until 3pm on Friday, May 15 for construction of a basic park-style classroom pavilion. All bids should be sent in PDF format to bids@nhep.com, and should include “Pavilion Bid” in the title. All emails containing bids will be opened at 3:15 on Friday, May 15. No late bids will be accepted. Common Ground’s leadership staff and board of directors will choose the bid that is most advantageous, based on price and qualifications/quality of product.
Common Ground is seeking bids for purchase of the following product:
- A basic, open-sided parks pavilion (sample photo below).
- 16 – 20′ wide (any width in this range is acceptable, with preference for the widest size that is within our budget) by 50′ long.
- Wood frame.
- Asphalt shingle roof.
- No flooring (concrete pad NOT needed).
- Bid must include delivery and setup, including concrete piers.
- Site conditions: Installation site is clear and level with a dirt and loose fill substrate. Easily accessible for large machinery.
Delivery and setup will take place at 358 Springside Avenue, New Haven, CT 06515.
Setup must be complete by August 28, 2020.
This purchase is funded by a government grant that totals $30,000, and is intended to include other hardware expenses beyond this purchase. No additional funding beyond this grant is available for this purchase at this time.
All bidders must have prior experience consisting of no less than three similar projects with an equal or greater value within the last five years. Bidders must provide verification of experience with proposal, either as a PDF or a link to a web document.
Bidders should specify if they are minority and/or women-owned firms. If so, please submit their DAS MBE Certificate with the bid.

Q: Will Common Ground be receiving and unloading the equipment upon arrival?
A: We are are seeking bids that include setup/installation of the pavilion being purchased. Our staff will be available to advise/oversee setup/installation, but we request that unloading/setup/installation is provided as part of the bid for this purchase..
Q: Is this a prevailing wage project?
A: This is not a prevailing wage project.
Q: Would you consider a metal roof instead of asphalt shingles, as metal roof prices are lower than shingles right now?
A: Yes, a metal roof is acceptable as part of a bid. The adjacent structure to this planned pavilion has a green metal roof.
