NH Register: New Haven shooting victim described as ‘kind young man’

NEW HAVEN >> Common Ground High School officials issued a statement of grief over the shooting death of a “kind, big-hearted” senior this weekend and said the school community would gather today to remember Javier Martinez.

Director of Development and Community Engagement Joel Tolman and School Director Lizanne Cox released a statement to help remember the 18-year-old, who was shot and killed Saturday morning. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

According to Cox, Martinez “was a kind, big-hearted young man, who smiled a lot and spoke softly. He cared about his community and environment, and acted on that commitment.”
