Common Ground is committed to the fundamental right of the LGBTQ community to marry, work, and to live their lives with respect and with dignity, and without being subject to discrimination.

Common Ground stands in opposition to the Trump administration’s Executive Order to rescind the Obama administration’s  federal guidance that requires transgender students receive access to the restrooms and locker rooms of their chosen gender identity. We appreciate Governor Malloy’s subsequent Executive Order essentially rendering Trump’s action void in Connecticut.

At Common Ground, we have followed and will continue to follow the guidance first issued by the Obama administration: transgender students have access to restrooms of their chosen gender identity.

Everyone is welcomed at Common Ground, and invited to be who they are.
