Common Ground welcomes students who want to change the world … and graduates the next generation of successful college students & powerful environmental leaders.
Common Ground students are:
A family with small school support: With just 185 students, every student is known well and pushed to excel.
A diverse, inclusive community: Students come from 16 different school districts. 80% are young people of color, 70% are from the City of New Haven, and 60% quality for free or reduced lunch.
Hard-working and high-achieving: After 5 years of gains – including the largest of any Connecticut high school in 2010 – our students now outperform the state average in reading and writing. More than 93% are accepted to college.
Powerful leaders, now & in the future: In our last two graduating classes, more than a third of students plan to pursue an environmental field in college.
