Melissa is so excited to have joined the Environmental Education team at Common Ground, and can be found leading field trips. Often going by the nickname Lantz (her maiden name.) Melissa’s background is in Art Education. She holds a Master’s degree and PreK-Grade 12 teaching certification in Art Education; having studied at SCSU, and Paier College of Art. Melissa is a former elementary school art teacher. She also did some guest lectures at Naugatuck Valley Community College on Demyelinating Neuropathies and the use of AFOs to improve gate.
For the past four years, Melissa has been a stay-at-home Mom to an amazing, nature-loving little girl. It was while chaperoning a field trip for her daughter’s preschool class that Melissa fell in love with Common Ground, and decided to pursue employment here.
