With an educational background in Youth and Adult Education, Liliana Ortega worked several years in training programs for the German Labor Department. Following her family to the United States, she taught Spanish in a middle school and high school while she completed her teaching certificate and Masterís in Modern Languages. Liliana  recently joined Common Ground, inspired by its environmental mission and in search of a new challenge. She teaches Spanish language, and looks forward to increase the school theme related content in her classes. She has a great interest for sustainable agriculture, which led her to be a supporter of New Britain Oaks Urban Farms in her community. In her spare time, Liliana enjoys hiking, biking, gardening and reading. In her early youth she was exposed to different cultures, and languages. She feels that learning a second language helps to promote peace and understanding among cultures.
