Firehouse 12’s monthly benefit night continues, and this time they’re raising funds and awareness for Common Ground School. As the Fall approaches, the school year is just getting started, and we want to make sure that Common Ground has the funding and support needed to continue their mission of teaching kids and the community about sustainable living, farming, and the environment.
As always, Sanctuary Saturdays chooses a new charity and donates 100% of the profits from these nights to said charity.
From the start, Common Ground has broken new ground. In the late 1980s, community members came together to connect city residents to the natural world, grow healthy food in our community, and change the way we educate our children.
Today, Common Ground continues their mission by teaching kids about the environment through their high school courses and environment center, and running a working farm which produces 10,000 pounds of healthy, local food a year and creating rich opportunities for education and community engagement.
