Development Committee Report (Brian + Committee)

Presentation by Jackie Downing – Senior Director of Grantmaking and Nonprofit Support, Community Foundation.

The Development Committee met on September 24th. Minutes of that meeting can be found here.

Brian Kelahan will give an update during the meeting and Audrey Nefores will share a summary report on Feast from the Fields during the Exec Dir reporting.

Audit/Finance Committee (Jeff)

Budget VS Actuals Draft for NHEP: August 2024

The Financial Committee met on September 26th 2024.

We had our initial meeting with the team from Your Part Time Controller (YPTC) to discuss their work and how they would be working with us going forward.

The current Budget VS Actuals were reviewed and this document was prepared for us by Margaret Randle of YPTC. 

The Audit is still ongoing and should be completed soon. 

School Committee Report (Liz/Monique) 

The School Handbook and the revised Non-Discrimination Policy both need to be approved by the Board. Monique will share both docs and be prepared to briefly discuss significant changes at the meeting. Monique will also be presenting overviews of the School Improvement Plan and the renewal-required Corrective Action Plan as part of her School Program report.

Search Committee (Jeff and Audrey)

ED Search Schedule: 

The final town hall meeting will be taking place on Tuesday evening. 

This is the last opportunity for our supporters to add their voice to the search. 

  1. Virtual Town Hall: Tuesday, October 1st, 6:30-7:15. Please click here to register and submit questions about the search. If you previously registered via this form, you do not need to re-register.
  2. Complete this survey by Tuesday, October 1st. We anticipate that the survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous.

The Search Launch date is currently set for Early October. 

A candidate slate will be built out in October and November. 

Video interviews will take place in October and November. 

Target for final interviews is set for January with an offer expected to be made in January.

In order to comply with Connecticut Open Meeting laws, any member of the public wishing to participate in the meeting must sign up on the Public Participation Sign-up Document. Sign-ups for Public Participation will open at 5 pm on the last business day before the meeting (Friday, October 25th and will close at 5:00 pm on the day of the meeting (Monday, October 28th) Public Participation is limited to 2 minutes per person up to 30 total minutes. Anyone wishing to make a statement to the board can also submit testimony in writing to Alexis.Smith@nhep.com  by 5:00 pm on the day of the meeting. All submitted documents will be included in the publicly shared meeting minutes.
