Enjoy Open Farm Day at Common Ground every Saturday from April through the end of November. Explore our beautiful urban farm, help dig and plant in the children’s garden, and ask farm staff your backyard gardening and composting questions. The animal yards are open for visitors to meet our chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, sheep, and pigs. Trail maps are available for self-guided hikes in West Rock Park, including the family-friendly Old Oak Nature Trail. This is a free event, donations welcomed.
10:15 AM Farmyard Story and Activity Time: Meet a chicken, get up close with a butterfly, brush a goat, plant a seed, or watch some worms! Join us each Saturday at 10:15 to hear a story and meet the farm creature or plant of the week. All ages welcome. Suggested donation: $5 per family.
11:00 AM Farm and Campus Tours: Join us each Saturday at 11 AM for a guided tour of our campus. Meet the animals, graze in the garden, discover the Outdoor Classroom, and learn about our High School and Community Programs. Walking tours are free and last about 45 minutes – all are welcome, no RSVP required.
